The role and challenge

We are searching for a Lead Software Architect to help shape our growing remote tech organization. The job is primarily on a remote basis (unless situated in Stockholm), and you will be reporting to the VP of Engineering.

This is an ultimate authority role in the Engineering department, today consisting of over 20 people and growing. You will act as the technology leader and be the ultimate owner of complete architecture and technologies used within our product(s).

We are looking for someone with an advanced technological skill set and a proven record in designing complex, highly-available systems, and products. You should also have experience in setting up development standards and best practices and also in making sure they are being followed across different teams. We are happy to tell you more about the position in a first interview. 


To succeed in this role, you'll need:

👉 At least 3 years of experience in Technical Leadership

🤖 Strong background in various modern programming languages (both backend and frontend would be super useful, but not essential; our current tech stack consists of PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, jQuery, MySQL, Redis)

🌱 Experience with cloud-based architectures and deployment strategies (currently using DigitalOcean and Laravel Forge)

🤝 Track record of delivering successful products in a leading technical position

👥 Experience in evaluating, coaching, and mentoring technology talent as well as working with teams in designing, building, delivering, and managing complex, large-scale, cloud-based, or on-premise SaaS solutions

📈 Being flexible, self-motivated, and proactive, with demonstrated creative/critical thinking capabilities. Plus, being capable of dealing with ambiguity, addressing uncertainty, and adapting to changing priorities.

🗣 Outstanding communication/presentation skills, written and verbal, as well as the ability to influence credibly and effectively -> English at C1 level is required as well

👀 A high degree of accuracy and willingness to work at a very detailed level while still being able to abstract ideas for communication to cross-functional teams and senior management

🎯 Thorough understanding and execution of a wide variety of project/program management approaches, techniques, and methods, including standard SDLC and PM methodologies (waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

⚡️ An ability to work independently, as well as a team player with all parties/stakeholders
