Data Engineer

Project: CCMIS/Pelican Project for PA DPW:

• Analyzing and implementing the changes required for all the data warehouse PCRs;
• Working extensively with Cognos Support regarding requirements and engagement issues;
• Writing validation scripts for PCR'sR's;
• Creating Cognos packages;
• Troubleshooting Cognos 8 report data & formatting issues.
• Modifying Power Cubes by adding new dimensions, levels, and measures.
• Migrating existing Cognos series 7 cubes to Cognos 8.4.1;
• Creating SRs for monthly Landcare report;
• Working extensively with complex mappings using expressions, Routers, Lookups, source qualifiers, and aggregators;
• Creating ad-hoc reports using Query Studio and complex pieces using Report Studio;
• Developing the Cognos Impromptu query definition (.iqd) files that will feed Cognos cubes.

• Creating data level, object level and package level security in Framework Manager;
• Creating the Framework manager model using the Model Accelerator to bring up a perfect Star Schema;
• Building DMR and Cubes in Transformer using IQDs, packages, reports, etc., as a data source;
• Developing various Adhoc report types and trained business users in Ad-Hoc Components, such as Business Insight & Business Insight Advanced.

Project: Department of Human Services Phase I and II:

• Creating Tableau scorecards and dashboards;
• Creating action filters, parameters, and calculated sets for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau.
• Developing Tableau visualizations and dashboards using Tableau Desktop.

Project: CAPS Ad Hoc Self-Service Reporting:

• Implementing the Framework Manager Model in Cognos 10.2.2;
• Creating Database, Abstraction, Alias, and Presentation layers;
• Creating Model Query Subjects, Embedded and Model Filters;
• Creating of 1600 + data elements, including (Query Items, Filters, and Measures);
• Developing FM Model against STAR and SNOWFLAKE data models.
