The goal of Overdroid was to provide a new degree of freedom to electronic entertainment products leveraging the blockchain techonology.

Won a few startup competitions in Italy:

  • Best startup idea by the Incubator of the University of Florence (Italy); Acceleration Program organized by Federmanager Toscana;
  • Ranked second in the StartCup Toscana (2020);
  • Won the Cinecittà Game Hub competition (2021) with a prize of 60,000€.

Achieved important milestones with the product:

  • October 2021: NFT public sale with a revenue of 250,000€;
  • November 2021: released the public Alpha of the video game with a world-wide launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversaw nearly all technical aspects of the project, transforming the initial concept into a functional product.
  • Designed both the game architecture and the network architecture from the ground up. Implemented all gameplay systems for this simultaneous multiplayer turn-based game.
  • Researched, selected, and integrated the services, tools, and technologies required to bring the project to life in the shortest possible time.
  • Managed relationships with outsourcing partners for blockchain and web development, including writing detailed requirements, coordinating communication, and performing quality assurance.
  • Played a key role in all strategic, partnership and marketing decisions.

Announced AAA game by Supermassive Games

Team extension of the Supermassive Games Engineering Team, contributing to several areas such as gameplay development, UI, engine maintenance, and workflow tools. Supported the project throughout both the prototype and release phases, helping to bring key gameplay features to life and to develop studio/engine tools.

Responsibilities: close collaboration with Design and Audio departments to clarify requirements and improve the product; implemented new gameplay features and iterated on existing prototype features to bring them to production level, including support for multiplayer; CPU and memory profiling and optimization on PC, PS5 and XSX; sequencer: maintenance of custom engine changes and general bug-fixing; designed and implemented a tool that allows to better distribute the workload for specific assets (the tool made use of weighted graphs and clusterization to solve the minimum N-cut problem); worked on a custom version of the Movie Render Queue tool, intended to statically render sequences outside the game.
